Other than the 3 courses we get automatically signed up for are there any others, the catalogue does not appear to show any.
So just to be clear, you mean the 3 E-learning modules that you are automatically signed up to when you register on Zen, the CoderDojo platform, which are, What is the ethos of CoderDojo, how to be a CoderDojo Mentor and one on safe-guarding children.
Besides these we offer courses as part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation on Future Learn. Including a three week course on how to start a CoderDojo club:
Scratch to Python: Moving from Block- to Text-based Programming
Understand key programming concepts and apply them using Scratch.
Teaching Physical Computing with Raspberry Pi and Python
I hope you find these useful
I have completed the code club course, and the courses on physical computing and teaching programming in primary schools. I am trying to pay for these courses as employers insist on ‘evidence’. So not able to keep doing this unless someone decides to employ me. Employers don’t pay for these things.
Hi @Paul-Sutton, I just wanted to check that you understand the courses are all available for free.
The payment they ask for is just to get permanent access to the course materials (most of which you can just download during the course) and to get a certificate that you don’t actually need. It’s a feature of the FutreLearn platform that we can’t turn off.
Yes, but having a certificate is proof for employers I have undertaken the courses, otherwise there is very little evidence of this for interviews or to back up a CV,
Hopefully potential employers will see I have done XYZ and start taking job applicants seriously who seek out and pay for their own CPD., as employers hardly do this do they, unless it is core essential training.
Looks like your connection to CoderDojo Forum was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
