Here, you can get updates on our Community Platform. We’ll post any known issues that we’re currently investigating, and may be around for a few more days, and new features we’ve deployed to make using the Community Platform a more enjoyable experience.

We recently became aware of a bug in the CoderDojo Community Platform regarding timezones and daylight savings. We contacted those with upcoming events scheduled which may be affected by email today.
We applied a fix in mid-October, but it cannot retroactively cover events created before the fix. Therefore, those emailed need to manually check their events and ensure the time is correct and modify it if necessary. If you didn’t receive an email, then your Dojo event would not have been affected by this.
We’ve been informed yesterday night of an issue regarding saving event (https://github.com/CoderDojo/community-platform/issues/1105). It was actually broader than that.
We went through it this morning and have discovered a build issue + a dependency issue which may have last for a day. It should be fixed by now. If you still encounter issues with using buttons and actions, please come back to us !
We’ve just pushed something live that Dojo Admins around the world have been shouting for! You talked, we listened. You can now view a user’s email from the manage users page of your Dojo so you can easily contact an individual when necessary. If the user in question is a youth with no email, the parent’s email will be shown instead.
We are also working on fixing the View Profile link so that you can view certain details of a user’s profile as long as they are a member of your Dojo. This will allow you to do things like viewing the badges that a child already has, or view parent contact details. We’ll share more about this when we have it live, but in the meantime, we wanted to make it easier for you to get in touch with individuals.
Keep the feedback coming!
We’re currently troubleshooting an issue with permissions. It seems an instability is occurring regularly, affecting random part of the website. 4 days ago it was about sending an invite to an user, and this week-end it was affecting the capacity to see a profile.
We are putting in place a debug system to understand what is going on.
Thanks for your patience
We believe we have resolved the issue with permissions. We will be monitoring the logs over the next couple of days to ensure we’ve caught everything.
If anyone has further issues with pages not loading when they should, please let us know via the forums, email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or our GitHub project.
We got feedback from the community about how they wanted to show a preview of their Dojo event when they post links to it on Facebook, Twitter or Slack. You asked, and we listened!
You can see how the preview looks below on Slack!
This makes sharing your ticketed events that you’ve created on the CoderDojo platform easier and improves visibility. Why not try it out when sharing your next event and let us know how you get on!

Some of you may be experiencing some intermittent issues across the Community Platform at the moment. We have isolated the issue and are working on a fix. We’ll keep you posted!
All should be back to normal. Thanks for your patience!
We deployed the possibility to change your newsletter preferences, but it seems to have broken something else (relative to saving a profile)
We’ll have a look tomorrow morning, sorry for the inconvenience
That should be fixed, it was located in the process of saving kids profiles when editing the email newsletter preferences
Software Engineers, @Daniel-Brierton and @Guillaume-Feliciano have made some awesome design and feature improvements to the Community Platform recently including:
New “My Dojos” page design! (check it out!)
New “My Children” page design
New “Contact Dojo Members” functionality! (amazing! )
And you can now check a badges criteria before awarding them by clicking on the specific badge (as you can see from my nifty gif) on the Badges page here!
You can hear Daniel talk about some of these updates at a recent mentor meet up here.
If you have any feedback on these new updates and features be sure to let us know, or if there is a specific feature you think it would be great to have, or any other ideas for improving the platform let us know!

As a selection of the platforms most active users we would love to hear what you all think
FYI, an issue has been found regarding updating profile info. For more information, please check https://github.com/CoderDojo/community-platform/issues/1202
A fix will be deployed today to not trigger the issue anymore, but affected users’ profiles will be repaired later on during the week.
The issue has been resolved and every user who suffered from this issue should have their profile fixed.
If it’s not the case, please contact me by PM
Sorry for the inconvenience
As a note, we deployed on Thursday a security patch to extend coverage of our permission system.
If you note any issue on a workflow related to events (booking, creation, …) please notify us, it may be a side effect of this patch
As noted in https://forums.coderdojo.com/topic/420/confirmation-emails-in-ticketing-system/2, email confirmation for booking was not being sent since June 22, according to our logs. This issue is due to a series of loopholes in the system : our logs are normally sent by notifications, but those specific errors didn’t. We needed to investigate why, as this is definitely not an acceptable delay.
The original reason of the issue, as stated in the forum post, is due to the caching of one of our dependencies (cp-translations during the build process which contains the keys of the translations (the key is the universal sentence used to regroup a sentence cross-languages). When failing to retrieve the key (because the module was not containing any, by being outdated) the system was failing to send the email.
This is now fixed for the current running version and email confirmation for bookings are now sending.
Apologies for this issue, and particularly for the response time.
We’ve just released a new integration so you can now integrate your Dojo events created on Eventbrite with their Dojo page on the CoderDojo Community Platform!
Visibility: Parents and young people who come to our website can find your Dojo and book a ticket quickly and easily.
Impact measurement: The Foundation will be able to measure and report the impact of the global community!
It’s really easy! (see how here 😀 )
Fins out everything you need to know about connecting our Dojos Eventbrite account with your Dojo so it syncs and dispalys all your future Dojo events on the CoderDojo Platform here.
We just fixed an issue for Dojo using Eventbrite. Some functionnalities related to the Dojo were disfunctional (inviting members for example) due to the connection to Eventbrite.
This should be fixed by now
A quick message : if you encounter some dates in Taiwanese, please change your locale (bottom left dropdown) back and forth from another locale to yours again.
It should only affect users that came before on the website and have a corrupted browser local locale.
We’ve had some feedback over the last couple weeks about the necessity to bring back the ability to join a Dojo so parents/attendees can get updates from Champions about upcoming events. We’ve heard our users, and bumped the priority on this right to the top. We’ve now pushed it live so you or your Dojo’s attendees can utilise it again.
Due to the timing of its release, there are some caveats:
We will be continuing to improve upon this in the coming weeks, such as hooking it up to a login/registration flow for non-logged in users.
Sorry for the delay on this, we hit a few bumps along the way, but we’ve been able to improve our tests to be more reliable as a result.
As you may be aware we’re focused on security through strictly managing permissions.
Recently a restriction on permissions made the navigation of “Manage events” triggering some “error loading applications”.
We were made aware of this thanks to a Community member reporting it to us.
It is now fixed now. Please let us know if you find anything else. We really appriciate your help.
Looks like your connection to CoderDojo Forum was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
