Privacy Staement - help understand

  • Hi,

I have a question concerning the privacy statement of Zen:

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about or customers will be one of the transferred assets.

    Can the foundation be bought?

  • CoderDojo Foundation

@Nicco-Kunzmann Thanks for your question! In short, no we can’t be bought :) Our legal status is that we are an company limited by guarantee without shareholders, with charitable status.

As we do not have shareholders, shares can be bought or sold. We lay our our vision and mission into our company governing documents. These are going to be updated in the next few months due to a change in Irish company law. I will check with our board, but once they are updated I’m sure we publish the articles for people who have na interest?

  • Hi,

    CoderDojo merges with Raspberry Pi.

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties unless you have consented to this disclosure.

Since this is a question of also ethical correctness, would you like to discuss this?

  • CoderDojo Foundation

    Hi @Nicco-Kunzmann,

As we will remain a separate legal entity our data and our users data will remain with the Foundation to continue to comply with data protection regulation.

If a data sharing agreement is ever put in place we will be updating our privacy statement and data protection policies and notifying users of any changes. We have some current updates to our privacy policy coming through in order to become compliant with GDPR legislation (which is enacted in around 1 year) and will be ensuring all CoderDojo platforms are fully compliant with this as we deploy changes to the platform.

Please let us know if you have any questions/queries around this and we will be continuing to keep the community and in particular users of the platform up to date on this.
