Joanne started a new Dojo in Charleville mall library (North strand, Dublin 1) three weeks ago.
The response has been great with oversubscription on places.
Next Saturday morning the 22nd of July, Joanne will be installing new hard drives into ~20 laptops with the ninjas.
Could you spare a couple of hours next Saturday morning to help install hard drives?
If you have experience of this even better.
If you have any questions or want to let Joanne know that you can help please post below and I will pass on your message/details.
In order to run an amazing event for the kids who attend and present at CoderDojo Coolest Projects we need volunteers like you with a wide variety of skills, non-technical or technical! All we ask for is a few hours of your time on Saturday June 17th and 2 – 3 hours for a briefing this week (the week of the 29th), so you know what to expect. Thats all!

This year there will be an interactive CoderDojo Booth at the Dublin Tech Summit event (15th – 16th of Feb 2017).
We are looking for CoderDojo Ninjas from across Ireland to showcase the awesome projects that they’ve made at CoderDojo for one of these days (either the 15th or 16th of Feb) at the booth!
The projects don’t have to be categorised and any cool project made at CoderDojo is eligible for application. If a youths project is selected they will be invited to showcase it for one of the days (either the 15th or 16th of Feb 2017) at the CoderDojo booth at the Dublin Tech Summit event in the Convention Centre, Dublin!
Deadline for applications is the 23:59 GMT on the 5th of Feb 2017.
If you have any further questions contact us at: email@example.com
Please note: this opportunity is for CoderDojo Ninjas (7-17), in Ireland, to showcase their projects at the event and NOT adult Mentors. Adults accompanying CoderDojo Youth will be responsible for the youths attending & need the necessary parental approval. All attendees will have to cover their own cost of travel to the event.

Seen this cool post about the CoderGirl Hack Day this morning
After a little work we have completed the activities required to set up CoderDojo Ireland as an company, we now intend registering with the Charity Regulator and progressing matters in this area.
What are the issues effecting your Dojo?
How can we help?
We have been asked by some Dojo’s to investigate leveraging the scale of the CoderDojo movement in Ireland to investigate options in terms of access to Dojo Public Liability Insurance cover and to explore options in terms of trying to get Dojo’s access to discounted mobile broadband WIFI routers both of which we are now working on (more to follow). But what else do you think we could / should be doing to help your Dojo?
The maximum number of people have now registered for the event. Although there is a waitlist which you can access here.
As a result of new requirements set out in Charities Legislation. The Charity Regulator presented the board of CodeDojo Ireland (CDI) with two different options for registration and ongoing compliance with the law for the CoderDojo movement in Ireland. The first option being that CDI as the umbrella organisation in Ireland would register all Dojos and provide annual reporting to the Regulator on behalf of all Dojos. The second option being that each Dojo registers individually and reports directly to the Regulator annually.
Following receipt of completed surveys it is overwhelmingly the Community’s wish (89.5% in favour) that if registration and reporting is required it should proceed on the basis of CDI registering as the umbrella body for the CoderDojo community in Ireland. On this basis CDI is now proceeding with Incorporation. Once completed the board intend to actively engage with the Charity Regulator with a view to agreeing as straight forward a process as possible with as little administration (both for CoderDojo Ireland and individual Dojo’s) in terms of gathering and consolidating of information an annual basis. This annual reporting requirement is scheduled to commence for the year ended 2017 so over the coming months once a process has been agreed we will be in contact with Champions in each Dojo to discuss further.
In the meantime if you have any questions please direct them to firstname.lastname@example.org. .
